Newberry Township Police are searching for a man who they say groped a woman in a shopping center over the weekend.

According to police, a man walked up to a woman's vehicle about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in the parking lot of the Newberry Point Shopping Plaza, near the Dollar Tree.

The man told the woman he thought she was attractive, and he reached through the open driver's side window and grabbed the steering wheel, according to police.

The man began to proposition the woman, who rejected him multiple times, police said.

The man, upset about her response, grabbed the woman's breast, police said.

The suspect is described as heavy-set, in his mid-40s and about 5-foot-8. He has curly, sandy brown hair and was wearing a gray muscle shirt, according to police.

Police say it is believed he was driving a small silver or gray newer model car.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Newberry Township Police at 717-938-2608.
