Marshals: Drugs, guns seized during York City arrest
Drugs and guns were seized during the arrest of a York City man this week, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Flair Griggs, 21, was arrested in the 100 block of North Pine Street on Tuesday, Sept. 12, the release states.
York City Police obtained a warrant for his arrest Aug. 17 on a drug charge, and the state board of probation also filed a warrant Aug. 18 for a parole violation, according to the release.
The U.S. Marshals Task Force found information that Griggs was still in the area, and on Tuesday they arrested him. According to officials, Griggs and others were arrested when they attempted to flee from police at the scene.
Drugs and five guns were recovered at the scene, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Others, whose names were not released, face additional charges.
York City Police, York County Sheriff's Office, Spring Garden Township Police, state police and the York County District Attorney's Office assisted in the investigation.
Griggs: Griggs, 16 at the time, shot and killed 17-year-old Joseph Gomez Jr. in self-defense outside the McDonald's on South George Street in April 2013.
He was sentenced to three to seven years in prison for illegal firearm possession and reckless endangerment.
Pennsylvania Department of Corrections press secretary Amy Worden said Griggs was paroled July 5.
