The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for York County as the tail of a strong storm system moves across Pennsylvania Tuesday, Aug. 22.

The watch will remain in effect until midnight Wednesday, Aug. 23, according to the National Weather Service. 

Strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty wind and hail are possible for the duration of the watch, though the risk for tornadoes is low, according to the watch alert.

The severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect for Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin and Lancaster counties.
