Fairview Township Police are investigating an assault that happened outside a home last week.
Police were sent to a home in the 100 block of Forest Drive just before 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, for a report of an assault.
Residents of the home told police they were assaulted by an unknown man, police said.
Assault: The residents told police that their doorbell rang, and they were confronted by a man looking for someone named "Jason."
The residents told the man that Jason did not live there, and the man told them he did not believe them, police said.
The discussion became heated, police say, and the man pulled the male resident off the porch and down the front steps of the home. The resident covered his head as the man tried to hit him, police said.
A woman who lives at the residence tried to step in, and police say the assailant pushed her away, and then ran away on foot.
The man is described as a white man in his 30's. Police say he was wearing a light blue T-shirt with a logo on the front, and he had dark hair and scruffy facial hair.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 717-901-5267. Tips may be submitted through the police department's website.
