A flood advisory is in effect for some areas of York County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

According to the NWS, doppler radar indicated an area of heavy rain tracking north east across the southern half of York and Lancaster counties. Three hourly rainfall totals of six-tenths of an inch to to an inch of rainfall are expected, which could cause minor flooding in areas near already high-running small streams and creeks, the NWS said.

In York County, Red Lion, Dallastown, and Hanover, are included in the advisory.

The advisory, which was issued at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, is expected to last until 3:45 p.m.
