Worker hurt after falling into septic tank at Roundtop ski resort

Associated Press

A contract worker is in the hospital after falling into a septic tank that is under construction at a Pennsylvania ski resort.

The contractor was working on scaffolding at Ski Roundtop in Lewisberry Friday. The unidentified man lost his balance and fell about 8 feet down into the 30-foot tank, and landed on the concrete floor.

Fire Chief Larry Anderson says they took care in rescuing him and transporting him, as they did not want to injure him further.

The man suffered a shoulder injury and a possible concussion. He was taken to a local hospital breathing and alert. His current condition is not available.
