A Spring Garden Township man was arrested Thursday after police say he fired at a vehicle in March.

Brian Jaquell Freeman Jr., 23, of 1340 S. Ogontz St., was arrested in the 500 block of Madison Avenue without incident, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force then turned Freeman over to local authorities.

Freeman is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of simple assault, prohibited possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment, among other charges, according to court records.

Allegations:  Police were called to the area of North Newberry Street near Smyser Street about 9:30 p.m. March 25 when the driver of a car flagged down an officer, saying Freeman had shot at his vehicle, documents state.

The victim, who was driving a BMW sedan, was in the area when a white Chevrolet Impala swerved into the oncoming traffic lane and pulled alongside him, police said.

Freeman, the driver of the Impala, pulled out a pistol and fired one shot at the victim's car, court documents allege.

A bullet hole could be seen in the upper part of the driver side rear door, which police said was close to where the driver's seat had been reclined.

Freeman was the only one in the car at the time, police said.

Freeman is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have a firearm, documents state. His driver's license was suspended during the time of the incident as well, according to police.

Freeman was arraigned on the charges Thursday morning, and District Judge James Morgan set bail at $75,000.

Additionally, Freeman is  charged with receiving stolen property and firearms charges from Northern York County Regional Police.

The charges were filed in February.

For that case, District Judge Jeffrey Oberdorf set bail at $500,000, meaning Freeman remains in York County Prison in lieu of $575,000 total bail.
