A flash flood watch is in effect for York County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The flood watch, which started at 1:15 p.m., is expected to last until late Thursday night.

 

According to the NWS, multiple rounds of heavy rainfall will occur, with the potential for "torrential" rain rates during the afternoon and evening.

One to 3 inches of rainfall are expected in the areas of the most intense showers and storms, and rainfall of up to 3 inches in expected in some areas, which could lead to flash floods, the NWS said.
