The Bull Road bridge reopened to traffic Tuesday afternoon, according to a release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The bridge, which spans Fox Run at the Dover, Conewago and Manchester township lines, reopened just before 2 p.m.

Construction on the bridge started in April.

While the bridge is reopened for traffic, additional work is expected to be done on the bridge in mid-July.

Bull Road bridge construction to start next week

According to PennDOT, motorists might notice a slight bump while driving across the bridge until a polyester polymer concrete overlay is applied to the deck. This is often a final step when completing bridge projects, PennDOT said.

The polyester material can only be applied when temperatures are consistently above 40 degrees, dry weather is forecast and the concrete on the bridge has cured for at least 30 days, the release states.

There will be an alternating traffic pattern controlled by flaggers when the overlay is applied next month.
