Update 4:25 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northwestern York County until 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Rockville to Shiremanstown to near Boiling Springs, moving east at 55 mph.

Wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph, according to the NWS.

Damage to power lines and trees is expected.

The severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for the county until 10 p.m.

York County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until Friday night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The storm watch will end at 10 p.m., according to the NWS.

York is one of more than two dozen included in the watch, alongside neighboring counties such as Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, and Lancaster.
