A Perry County man is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in a Franklin Township residence, according to police.

Northern York County Regional Police say Kevin Lee Barrick, 24, was caught having sex with the girl on the couch in his friend's home. Barrick had known the girl for about a year before the alleged incident, documents state.

Barrick, of 650 Mountain Road, Marysville, was arrested at his workplace in Carlisle on Thursday, police said. He is charged with statutory sexual assault, child rape, indecent assault of a person younger than 13 and corruption of minors.

Allegations: According to charging documents, Barrick sexually assaulted the girl at his friend's Franklin Township home. Police say a resident of the home walked in on the two having sex.

The resident reported the incident to police, documents state.

At the end of last month, the alleged victim spoke with officials at the York County Children's Advocacy Center in York City, where police say she admitted to having a relationship with Barrick.

On June 6, police spoke with Barrick, who police say told them the two would go places together, such as bowling or to the mall. Barrick told officials that the girl told him she was 12, but he thought she looked much older, police said.

He admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl at his friend's home, documents state.

Barrick said he stopped after five minutes because he thought it was wrong since she is 12, according to police.

Charges were filed for Barrick on Wednesday, and he was arraigned on the charges Thursday morning.

He was remanded to York County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Barrick's preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 19 at District Judge Richard Thomas' office.
