PSP: Dallastown man involved in fatal Cumberland Co. crash

A Dallastown man was involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Cumberland County on Thursday afternoon, according to state police.

Michael Levan, 22, of Millerstown, was merging his motorcycle onto Interstate 81 at the Exit 47 ramp in Carlisle about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and was thrown from it and into the right lane, police said.

James Goodyear, 60, of Dallastown, was driving his Mack truck in the right lane when police say Levan was thrown from the motorcycle, and Goodyear struck Levan with his truck. Levan was then hit by his motorcycle before coming to a stop in the right lane, police said.

Police say Levan was driving carelessly. Goodyear was not charged.

Levan was wearing a helmet during the crash.
