Mason Farro, 13, of Middletown, Delaware, was operating a dirt bike at Trail-Way Speedway in Adams County during a practice run at the race course when he was involved in a multi-bike crash at 5:55 p.m., according to a news release from the York County Coroner’s Office.

The track has issued a statement confirming the boy’s death and identity and extending condolences to his family, The Associated Press reported. The statement said medical crews responded “within seconds” before Farro was taken to Hanover Hospital.

Mason was pronounced dead at the hospital 6:32 p.m. Saturday, according to the coroner's office.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown to determine cause of death, the release states.
