DUI checkpoint, patrols scheduled for holiday weekend
Sobriety checkpoints and roving DUI patrols are scheduled for York County during the holiday weekend, according to a news release from the Center for Traffic Safety.
The checkpoints and DUI patrols will take place sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Monday.
The enforcement events are part of the center's Checkpoint and Expanded DUI/Underage Drinking Enforcement Program.
In addition to DUI enforcement, the "Click It or Ticket" seat-belt enforcement campaign, which started on May 15, will continue through Saturday, June 4.
Municipal police will be targeting both seat belt usage and impaired driving jointly over the weekend, according to the release.
The checkpoints, patrols and other enforcement activities part of the program are funded with federal grant money from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The checkpoints and patrols also will be held in Adams and Lancaster counties.
