Southwestern Regional Police are searching for a man they say caused a four-vehicle crash last Wednesday morning.
The department is searching for Arthur Stanley III, 29, of Hanover. He faces multiple traffic charges, according to police.
The crash occurred shortly before noon on Route 116 in Heidelberg Township. Police say three vehicles were driving east and were stopped in the road while one vehicle was trying to turn left onto Jacobs Mill Road.
A fourth vehicle, a large box truck driven by Stanley, did not stop and ran into the last of the stopped vehicles, causing a chain reaction of crashes, police said. All of the vehicles sustained substantial body damage.
Three of the seven people involved were taken to Hanover Hospital for injuries, which were not life-threatening, according to police.
Police say Stanley fled on foot just after the crash. Two witnesses chased him and then searched for him for 10 minutes but were unsuccessful, according to police.
Anyone with information on Stanley's whereabouts is asked to call police at 717-225-133 ext. 100 or York County 911's non-emergency number at 717-854-5571.
