A  Pennsylvania State Police trooper was sent to York Hospital for minor injuries after his vehicle was struck on Interstate 83 on Saturday morning, according a police official.

State police spokeswoman Trooper Megan Frazier said that the trooper had just completed a traffic stop on I-83 northbound near mile marker 2.5 when someone driving a yellow Audi lost control of the car and struck the trooper's vehicle.

"Both operators were transported to York Hospital by ambulance for minor injury," Frazier said.

The extent of the damages to the vehicles was not immediately available.

She said the trooper is expected to be OK.
