Endangerment charges dropped for W. Manchester couple
A West Manchester Township couple charged in February with child endangerment had their charges dropped this month, according to online court records.
David Allen Freshwater, 39, and Ariell Olviia-Kaelin Fissel, 24, were charged with child endangerment and reckless endangering another person for an incident that happened just before a storm in the beginning of February, police have said.
Just as a winter storm was developing, police said Freshwater threw the car keys out of the van the family was riding in, stranding himself, Fissel and their two young children.
Fissel had all of her charges dismissed, while Freshwater pleaded guilty to a summary nontraffic citation of disorderly conduct during their preliminary hearing last week, according to online court records.
Freshwater's other charges were dismissed as well.
Seamus Dubbs, Fissel's attorney, said the decision to dismiss the charges came from an agreement between the York County District Attorney's Office, Freshwater's public defender and himself.
"It was the right disposition," he said last week, adding that Fissel was pleased with the decision.
