A York City man remains in York County Prison on Monday after police say he broke an infant's arms last year.

Koran Antonio Culver, 21, of 831 W. Princess St., allegedly told the victim's mother to not report the child's injuries to police, charging documents state.

Culver is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a person less than 6 years old and one count each of attempted simple assault and endangering child welfare, documents state.

Allegations: York City Police were called to York Hospital on Sept. 18, 2016, for a report of a 5-month-old being treated for broken arms, police said.

The victim's mother told police Culver had put her son to bed downstairs in her York City home between 9 and 9:30 p.m. the night before, documents state. Police say Culver had walked downstairs two to three times after the child was put to bed.

The mother said she heard the child "crying loudly," police said. The next morning, Culver brought the victim to her with his whole body wrapped in a blanket, documents allege.

When the mother unwrapped the blanket, she found the child had his arms in a "handcuffed" position behind his back, police said.

Once she let go of the child's arms, they went limp, court documents state. Culver asked the mother to not call authorities, according to police.

"(The mother) reported (Culver) also told her to tell the police that he fell out of the bassinet," Detective Kyle Hower wrote in charging documents.

When speaking with authorities, police say Culver lied about spending the night and also lied about putting the child to bed, police said.

Hower attempted to do a follow-up interview with Culver after new information on the case developed, but Culver did not cooperate, documents state.

In November, a doctor at Hershey Medical Center told police that the child's injuries could not have been from a fall and that at the child's age, it would be impossible for him to pull himself out of the bassinet.

Documents do not state Culver's relationship to the child.

Culver was arraigned on the charges Thursday. He was in York County Prison  in lieu of $100,000 bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. April 24 at District Judge James H. Morgan's office.
