Marshals nab assault, child porn suspects

Two men wanted for separate crimes in York City remain behind bars after the U.S. Marshals Service said they apprehended them Friday.

Ernest Jones, 33, wanted on an assault charge, and Christopher Riley, 31, wanted on child pornography charges, were arrested earlier this week in York City, according to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Child porn charges: On Thursday, York City Police obtained a warrant for Riley, charging him with child pornography, the release states.

Riley, of 536 W. Clarke Ave., had his phone seized by police on March 16, charging documents allege.

When his phone was seized, Riley allegedly said "I'm so f—d," according to police.

Police asked him why he said that, and he admitted to having child pornography on his phone, documents state. Police say five pictures of child pornography were found on his phone. The girls in some of the images were as young as 3 years old, court documents state.

Riley was arrested in the 100 block of South Pine Street on Friday without incident, according to the news release.

He was remanded to York County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 11 at District Judge James Morgan's office.

Police: York City teen rammed ex's car

Assault charges: York City Police obtained a warrant for Jones on March 28 on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, unlawful restraint, terrorist threats and false imprisonment, the release states.

Officials say Jones beat a woman Monday, sending her to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. Jones was found in the 500 block of West Clarke Avenue and was arrested without incident Friday morning, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Jones remains in York County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. April 10 at District Judge Joel N. Toluba's office.
