Local beer enthusiasts will soon have more buying options as two convenience stores are now selling beer in York County.

The Rutter's at 910 S. Richland Ave., Spring Garden Township, has a "beer cave" from which customers can purchase beer, according to a release from the company. The store started selling beer Thursday.

It is the second Rutter's in York County to sell beer, and the seventh of the chain's stores to offer it. Rutter's is planning to sell beer at five more locations, according to the release. The first of those is at 2215 Old Trail Road in Newberry Township.

The caves have a large selection of beers, and people may buy them in six packs or singles.

Beer can be purchased there from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday, which is in compliance with state law.

The Sheetz at 160 Leader Heights Road, York Township, also is selling beer through its "beer cave," according to a release from the company. The newest location is one of 11 statewide offering beer.
