Construction to replace the failing Bull Road bridge, which connects Conewago, Dover and Manchester townships, is set to begin later this month.

The construction project, part of the state Department of Transportation's public-private Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, will break ground March 27.

Instead of crossing over the bridge along State Route 4001, drivers will use a detour along Route 238 on Church Road, Greenbriar Road and Route 921, according to a news release.

The bridge is one of 559 bridges being replaced in the state under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project and one of 15 in York County.

The bridge construction is expected to be completed by mid-June, according to the release.
