Springetts woman allegedly had 139 bags of heroin

A Springettsbury Township woman allegedly had nearly 140 bags of heroin on her when she was pulled over  Tuesday in Lancaster County, according to a news release from the Lancaster Bureau of Police.

Charissa Carman, 22, of the 3400 block of Eastern Boulevard, is charged with possession with intent to deliver and drug possession, according to police.

Police say they pulled over Carman at about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of East Filbert Street in Lancaster for a series of traffic violations. When police made contact with her, they found that she was wanted on an outstanding narcotics warrant from Manheim Township Police Department, police said.

She was arrested and searched, and police found 139 bags of heroin, valued at $1,390, and $585 cash, according to police.

Carman was arraigned Wednesday morning and remanded to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $76,000 bail.
