Police said at least a dozen girls, and perhaps more, were involved in a physical altercation inside the school.

All avoided injury, police said.

The York City officer who serves as William Penn's school resource officer will be sorting out what happened, who started it and whether charges are appropriate, police said.

York City School District spokeswoman Erin James declined immediate comment.
