Power restored for Yorkers

STAFF REPORT

Update 7:50 p.m. Scott Takac, spokesman for Met-Ed, said the power has been restored for all those who lost it earlier Tuesday. Technical problems caused the outage. Takac said the power was out for just over two hours for those who had their power restored last.

Update 7 p.m.: Takac said they recently restored power to about 1,000 customers, leaving about 800 without power.

Reported earlier: Nearly 2,000 people in York County are without power Tuesday evening, according to Met-Ed.

The majority of the outages are in Dover Township, Dover Borough and West Manchester Township, according to the Met-Ed outage map.

Takac said at 6:20 p.m. that there were about 1,900 people without power. He said he did not know the exact cause of the outage or when the power is expected to be restored in those areas.
