Car stuck in creek in York City

Residents living in the area of West Jackson Street near York College saw an unusual sight Tuesday evening as crews responded to reports that a car that became stuck in Tyler Run Creek.

A York City Police sergeant at the scene said a vehicle had become stuck in the creek under the bridge in the 300 block of West Jackson Street.

The call for the incident came in around 5:45 p.m., according to York County 911.

Lt. Troy Bankert said Wednesday afternoon that a woman had driven down the creek and that she had been taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. No additional information was immediately available.

Spring Garden Township Police and York City Fire Department assisted at the scene.
