Police: Heidelberg Twp. man raped elderly woman
- Police say Lance Moore, 47, raped an elderly woman Friday night.
- Moore was arraigned on the charges and remanded to York County Prison.
A Heidelberg Township man remains in York County Prison after police say he raped an elderly woman last week.
Lance Edward Moore, 47, of York Road, is charged with rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault and engaging in deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, among other charges, according to charging documents.
Southwestern Regional Police say Moore raped the elderly woman Friday night in Heidelberg Township.
He was arraigned on the charges Sunday morning and was remanded to prison in lieu of $25,000 bail. If he were to post the bail, he still would not be allowed out of prison because of a probation violation.
According to online court records, Moore pleaded no contest to possession with intent to deliver in November 2015. Common Pleas Judge Harry Ness sentenced Moore to nine to 23 months in prison and ordered him to receive a mental health evaluation.
It is not clear if he has an attorney representing him for his current charges.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 1.
