Suspect wanted in Christmas Day shooting

York City Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man who they say shot another man on Christmas Day.

Police are searching for 22-year-old Axel Omar Pena-Reyes, according to a release from the department. The shooting at 818 Fireside Road was reported to police about 4:30 p.m. Dec. 25.

“The exact reason why he shot the victim is unknown,” Lt. Troy Bankert, who supervises the detective bureau, said Thursday afternoon.

Pena-Reyes' exact address is unknown.

According to police, a man suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his thigh and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Bankert said the victim is in stable condition.

When found, Pena-Reyes will be charged with aggravated assault, according to online court records.
