Man stabbed with butter knife at Round the Clock
- A Brooklyn man is accused of stabbing a customer in the head at a diner Saturday morning.
- Police found him in a field behind the Days Inn shortly after, according to police.
- He was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $75,000.
A Brooklyn man spent Christmas Eve in York County Prison after police say he stabbed a man at a Manchester Township diner early that morning.
Jairo Martinez, 31, of Brooklyn, New York, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct, according to charging documents.
Northern York County Regional Police say Martinez stabbed a man with a butter knife at Round The Clock Diner, 222 Arsenal Road, early Saturday morning, then ran off behind a nearby hotel.
When reached Saturday, a manager for the diner said he could not comment.
The alleged incident: Police were dispatched to the diner about 3 a.m. Saturday for a reported stabbing, according to police. When they got there, Martinez was not at the scene, police allege.
A man inside was sitting at a table, holding towels against the left side of his head, and bloody towels as well as napkins were lying around the area and the floor, according to charging documents.
The man told police he was there with some friends and he was sitting at the booth when he noticed Martinez staring at him and his female friends, police allege. Martinez then came to the table and stabbed him in the head with a butter knife, documents state. Martinez left the diner after the stabbing, documents state.
The man refused to be taken to the hospital by emergency services.

While an officer was talking to the man, another officer found Martinez in a field south of the Days Inn, which is near the diner, police said.
Police took Martinez into custody and he was read his Miranda rights, but he refused to say anything, according to charging documents. The man identified Martinez as the one who had stabbed him, police allege.
Officers found a butter knife as well as a shirt Martinez had been wearing while searching the area.
Martinez was arraigned at central booking Saturday morning and was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail, according to the York County Sheriff's Department.
