A domestic incident Tuesday afternoon closed a portion of the Susquehanna Trail South in Springfield Township, state police said.

State troopers were dispatched to a home in the 6900 block of the Trail, and while there they made multiple requests for fire police to close that portion of the road in both directions, according to 911 radio transmissions.

A witness told The York Dispatch she saw about eight state police cruisers surrounding a home there, and saw troopers wearing helmets and holding shields.

The troopers had their rifles drawn, she said.

A state police spokesman said troopers were there for a domestic dispute that ended "without incident."

By 12:55 p.m., troopers had reopened the Susquehanna Trail in both directions.

The home is south of Dallastown Area Intermediate School and north of Godfrey Brothers Meats.
