The York County Coroner's Office has released the name of a New Freedom woman killed in a southern York County vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

Connie Salmons, 60, of North Constitution Avenue, died of multiple injuries, according to the coroner's office, which has ruled her death accidental.

No autopsy is planned.

Salmons was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jake Clevenger, according to a news release from the coroner's office.

She was driving in the 6400 block of Steltz Road in Codorus Township just after 2 p.m. when her vehicle went off the road, rolled over and struck a tree, the news release states.

Salmons was wearing her seat belt, according to the coroner's office.

Trooper Rob Hicks, a state police spokesman, said Salmons was westbound near the Bonnair Road intersection when she lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons.

It flipped several times before crashing into a tree, Hicks said.

Salmons had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel, he said.
