The York County Coroner's Office has released the name of a man killed early Monday morning when he crashed his vehicle in Conewago Township.

Michael Knokey, 40, of Virginia Avenue in Dover Township, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:10 a.m. crash in the 100 block of Canal Road Extended, according to the coroner's office.

Authorities say a freight train has derailed in a tunnel in Baltimore, but there are no injuries or hazards to the public.

Northern York County Regional Police said Knokey was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck westbound when it left the road, went up an embankment, rolled several times and struck another pickup truck that was legally parked along the road.

Knokey wasn't wearing a seat belt and was partially thrown from the pickup, police said.

No autopsy is planned, according to the coroner's office.

Knokey died of multiple traumatic injuries, said the coroner's office; Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley has ruled Knokey's death an accident.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
