Man allegedly masturbated in women's locker room at area gym
A man was in York County Prison on Friday after police say he masturbated in a women's locker room at an area gym last week.
Kevin Bradley Buchanan, 31, of no fixed address, is charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness and invasion of privacy, according to charging documents filed Tuesday.
Springettsbury Township Police say Buchanan watched a woman shower and get changed at the Unique Physique at 3432 E. Market St., and he was seen masturbating in the women's locker room.
Alleged incident: About 6:20 a.m. on Oct. 26, a woman had just finished working out at the gym and went into the locker room to shower and get changed for work, according to the police. After she showered, she dried off and wrapped a towel around herself and went to the locker room, where she noticed a man.
She told police the man, later identified as Buchanan, was standing at a curtain in the locker room that is the entrance to the sauna, and Buchanan was allegedly masturbating, according to the charging documents.
Buchanan left and went into the men's locker room, police say, and the woman saw him leaving the gym a few minutes later in a black hoodie and jeans.
Two other men at the gym also told police they saw Buchanan leave the gym, according to police. One of them identified the man as Buchanan, saying he had gone to school with him, police said.
Sgt. Brian Wilbur said investigators put together a photo lineup for the woman, and she identified Buchanan.
He was arrested Thursday in the park behind the police department, where he was allegedly harassing another woman, Wilbur said.
"He was following around a female park-goer, just kind of following her around and she had called," Wilbur said. The sergeant said once the officer responded, the officer recognized the man as Buchanan.
Buchanan also was cited for harassment for the Springettsbury Park incident, Wilbur said.
Buchanan was arraigned at District Judge Barry L. Bloss Jr.'s office Thursday morning and was remanded to York County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail, according to online court records.
