A York City man is accused of knocking another man's two front teeth out by hitting him with either a broom or a bat, according to police.

Hugh Pendelton Cowdin, 32, of 748 W. Poplar St., will be charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault, according to charging documents.

York City Police say that on Saturday night, Cowdin hit his roommate in the face and knocked two of his front teeth out.

Alleged incident: About 8:30 p.m., Cowdin's roommate told police that he went down to the first floor from his second-floor room and heard loud music coming from Cowdin's laptop, documents state.

He told police that when he turned the volume down, Cowdin became upset and told him not to touch his computer, police said.

Cowdin then allegedly punched his roommate in the face, documents state. Police say the roommate said he was hit again by an object, either a broom or a bat, and lost his two front teeth.

Police say when they arrived, there was blood around the roommate's mouth, and he was missing two teeth. The roommate told police that Cowdin should have been in the building, but police say they were not able to find him.

The roommate was then taken to York Hospital by ambulance.

York City Police filed the charges Wednesday, and Cowdin had not been arraigned on them as of Thursday evening, according to online court records.
