Man found dead in West Manchester Twp. Saturday

A Springettsbury Township man was found dead Saturday in West Manchester Township from an apparent suicide, according to a release from the York County Coroner's Office.

The 73-year-old man, whose name was not released, had reportedly left his home Friday morning, the coroner's office said. On Saturday morning, the man's family reported him missing to Springettsbury Township Police.

Police officers from Springettsbury and West Manchester townships, as well as officers from the Game Commission, searched for the man on Saturday afternoon. He was found dead in a wooded area near the intersection of Old Joseph Road and Graybill Road, in West Manchester Township, about 3 p.m. Saturday, according to the coroner's office.

There will not be an autopsy for the man, and his next of kin has been notified, the coroner's office said.
