A crew of young robbers targeted four victims in about a two-hour span Tuesday night in York City — and pistol-whipped two of the victims, according to police.

The four robberies appear to be related, said York City Police Lt. Troy Bankert, who supervises the detective bureau.

All were committed at gunpoint, he said.

The first happened at 6:55 p.m. at the corner of East King and Pattison streets. A man was walking in the area when two males robbed him at gunpoint and pistol-whipped him in the head, Bankert said. They stole his phone but got no cash, he said.

Two minutes later and a short distance away, two males confronted a woman who was standing outside her home and near her car in the 600 block of Edison Street, Bankert said. They robbed her at gunpoint and stole her phone, he said. She was physically unharmed.

At 7:15 p.m., four males robbed a man at the corner of South George Street and East Church Avenue. They pistol-whipped him in the head and stole his phone, Bankert said.

Pizza guy targeted: Less than two hours later, at 9:05 p.m., the four young robbers targeted a pizza-delivery person who'd just delivered a pizza in the 600 block of Manor Street, according to the lieutenant. That's not far from the York College campus.

The delivery man was walking back to his car when one of the four robbers pointed a gun at him and they stole his cash, Bankert said. The amount of cash stolen and the name of the pizza place that employs the deliverer weren't immediately available, he said.

The robbers are believed to be between 15 and 20 years old and weren't wearing masks, Bankert said.

The two robbery victims who were pistol-whipped suffered minor injuries and declined treatment, he said.

One gun was displayed in each of the four robberies, according to the lieutenants.
