The York City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled, according to a news release from the city.

There wasn't anything on the agenda for the meeting, so council called it off, according to the release.

The council committee meeting scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, is set to go ahead as normal.

The next standard council meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, preceded by a public comment session starting at 6:30 p.m., as is normal for meetings. Committee meetings, which are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, are for discussion of issues only and to decide what's going to be on the agenda for the next full meeting. Only at the full meetings, which happen every first and third Tuesday of the month, does council hold a legislative session during which it can vote on the agenda items.

All meetings are open to the public and are video recorded. The agendas and minutes from past meetings are available online at the York City website.

For information on council actions, meetings and ordinances, or to appear before the city council, call city clerk Dianna Thompson-Mitchell at (717) 849-2246.
