No injuries were reported early Monday morning when a stolen vehicle that had been fleeing from police crashed into a building in North York.

York City Police Chief Wes Kahley confirmed that city officers pursued a vehicle that had been reported stolen but discontinued the chase after losing sight of it.

The chase began about 1:15 a.m. Monday on Parkway Boulevard, then headed north on North George Street and into North York borough, police said.

City officers lost sight of the fleeing vehicle at the corner of Fifth Avenue and North Queen Street, according to police.

At 1:19 a.m., Northern York County Regional Police were called to 651 Albright Ave., which is directly behind the 600 block of North George Street, for a report of a vehicle into a structure, police said.

Northern Regional Lt. David Lash said the building is owned by Northwestern Human Services, and that no injuries were reported.

The driver and any passengers fled after the crash and before officers could be summoned to the scene, Lash said.

The vehicle that crashed into the building had been reported stolen, he confirmed.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Northern Regional Police at 717-292-3647.
