Police search for suspect in Springetts Weis robbery

Springettsbury Township Police have released a photo of a man they believe was involved in a robbery outside a Weis Markets store on Monday night.

Police are searching for a man who they say robbed an elderly couple outside the Weis Markets store on Monday night.

Police say that about 8 p.m. Monday, a man and woman in their 70s were approached by a man with a knife in the parking lot of the Weis at 2400 E. Market St. The suspect took a purse and wallet and left in a gray or blue sedan, possibly a Nissan, police said.

The vehicle was last seen leaving the lot, heading east on East Market Street.

The robber is described as white, stocky, about 6 feet tall, with dark hair and a short-trimmed beard. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and baggy pants.
