Police: Elderly couple robbed at knifepoint in Springetts
Springettsbury Township Police are asking for the public's help to identify a knife-wielding man who robbed an elderly couple Monday in a supermarket parking lot.
Police said the victims — both in their 70s — were in the lot of Weis Markets, 2400 E. Market St., about 7:40 p.m. when they were approached by a man displaying a knife.
He robbed them of a wallet and a purse, then fled in a gray or blue sedan, possibly a Nissan, according to police. The car was last seen headed east on East Market Street, police said.
The robber is described as white, stocky, about 6 feet tall, with dark hair and a short-trimmed beard. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt and baggy pants.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the robber's identity is asked to call police at (717) 757-3525.
