Northern York County Regional Police will sponsor a one-day defensive driving class in the beginning of November.

The National Safety Council's  defensive driving program is open to anyone age 16 and up who has a valid driver's license. It will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. Drivers 55 or older who have attended "Coaching the Mature Driver" programs also may attend. It will be held at the police department at 1445 E. Canal Road, Dover Township.

Those who attend must bring a bagged lunch. The registration deadline is Nov. 2, and registration is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The class is limited to 30 people.

Those interested may register by calling the department at (717) 292-3647 or by filling out a registration form at the station between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
