DUI checkpoints set for this weekend in York, Adams counties
- Grant money will allow police to conduct DUI checkpoints in York and Adams counties this weekend.
- The checkpoints will be held between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday.
People driving through York or Adams counties this weekend could find themselves being asked to walk the line.
The Center for Traffic Safety will hold sobriety checkpoints in both counties sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and Sunday, according to a center news release from Director Barbara Zortman.
DUI checkpoints and roving DUI patrols are funded with federal grant money distributed by the state Department of Transportation and are held on roads that have had a high number of impaired drivers and/or crashes, according to the center.
Checkpoints are announced in advance, but roving DUI patrols and related enforcement activities aren't necessarily announced in advance.
