Route 921 bridge over Little Conewago Creek closed for repairs
The bridge carrying Route 921, known as Canal Road Extended, over the Little Conewago Creek between East Manchester and Conewago townships closed Thursday for repairs, according to the state Department of Transportation. The bridge will be closed until the end of August for repairs, according to PennDOT.
The repairs will be done to the bridge deck and substructure.
Drivers will be detoured around the bridge by Route 295 (Susquehanna Trail), Route 238 (Church Road) and Board Road (Route 1031), according to PennDOT.
Northeastern School District has made special provisions with PennDOT allowing school buses through the work zone and over the bridge when school comes back in session next week. Only school buses can use the bridge between 6:30 and 9 a.m., and 2:30 and 4 p.m., according to PennDOT.
About 6,200 cars use the road daily, according to PennDOT.
