Lower Windsor Twp. bridge to close for replacement

Starting Monday, drivers will not be able to use the Manor Road bridge while it is closed for replacement, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The bridge, which takes Route 2029 over Cabin Creek in Lower Windsor Township, was built in 1934 and averages about 770 vehicles daily, according to PennDOT.

Drivers will be detoured to East Prospect Road, Mount Pisgah Road and Freysville Road, and Windsor Road.

According to PennDOT, replacing the bridge will remove the current weight limit postings and allow the agency to remove it from York County's list of structurally deficient bridges.

The construction is expected to finish in September.
