Manchester-area motorcyclist dies a week after crash

A Manchester-area man has died of injuries he suffered a week ago in a motorcycle crash, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Todd Knaub, of Board Road in East Manchester Township, died about 3 p.m. Sunday at York Hospital from a closed head injury, according to a news release from the coroner's office, which has ruled his death an accident.

He would have turned 53 on Monday.

Knaub was riding a motorcycle southbound about 1:45 p.m. July 17 near the corner of Furnace and East Posey roads in Lower Chanceford Township when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, according to state police.

He was flown to York Hospital by medical helicopter after he lost control and crashed, the coroner's news release states.

Knaub wasn't wearing a helmet, according to the coroner's office.

No autopsy is planned.

Deputy Coroner Ron Kopp was called to York Hospital's trauma-surgical intensive-care unit on Sunday afternoon to rule on the cause and manner of Knaub's death, the release states.
