The York-based health care system joins nearly 20 other Pennsylvania health care systems and more than 350 health care systems across the nation as a leader in using technology to enhance the patient experience, according to a survey. Results of the survey were released by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum earlier this month.

“As we increasingly find our attentions focused on our work in Project One, it is important to reflect on the extremely strong foundation and legacy that effort is built upon,” Dr. R. Hal Baker, senior vice president for clinical improvement and chief information officer at WellSpan Health, said in a news release. “Our Most Wired award reaffirms the tremendous work our information services and technology teams do every day, helping our entire organization work as one in the care of our patients.”

Project One is WellSpan's effort to consolidate electronic health records to one platform for the entire health system.

The survey focused on four main areas: infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety and clinical integration. The survey and report are done annually.
