Two York City men escaped with their lives when they were wounded during separate shootings Sunday in the city, York City Police said.

Just before 3 a.m., Travis Johnson, 22, was shot once in the upper left leg while in the 200 block of Harding Court, according to Lt. Troy Bankert, who supervises the city detective bureau.

Johnson was taken to York Hospital in a private vehicle for treatment, police said.

The wound isn't life-threatening, the lieutenant said.

Johnson was outside when he heard arguing, according to Bankert, who said Johnson was shot while running back into a home in the block.

Second shooting: Then, shortly after 12:30 p.m., someone shot Shaquille Orr in the upper right arm, the lieutenant said.

It happened in the 800 block of West Poplar Street, and the shooting wasn't random, according to Bankert.

However, at this point the shooter's identity isn't known, he said.

Orr, 22, also was taken to York Hospital in a private vehicle, according to police. His wound also wasn't life-threatening, police said.

Bankert said investigators have been getting "scattered" cooperation from witnesses.

Thirty-five people have been shot in York City so far in 2016, according to city records.
