'City hall for a day' event canceled
The "city hall for a day" event in which York City administration officials were going to travel to the east end on Monday has been canceled.
The event was supposed to take place from 4 to 6 p.m. in Albermarle Park.
According to a news release from the city, it's canceled because thunderstorms are forecast to pass through the area around that time.
This was going to be the second of four such events, in which various administration officials set up shop in different parts of town to engage in community outreach and make some of the services city hall offers more convenient. York City Mayor Kim Bracey announced this initiative in her State of the City address earlier this year.
The next such event is in the Avenues neighborhood in the northwestern part of York City from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. That event will take place in the Lincoln fire station at 800 Roosevelt Ave.
