A Glen Rock man is accused of stealing a woman's car and pointing a gun at her when she tried to get it back.
Nicholas Dean Puelzt, 23, of 6 Manchester St., is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and one count each of flight to avoid apprehension, theft by unlawful taking, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, as well as summary traffic charges, according to charging documents.
Police say Puelzt stole the vehicle from a North York home on July 11 and was found with it two days later at the Shrewsbury Walmart, where he pointed a gun at the car's owner when she attempted to block the car.
Northern York County Regional Police say about noon on July 11, Puelzt was in an argument with a woman in her North York home, took her keys and fled into Prospect Hill Cemetery before police arrived.
Once police left, Puelzt allegedly returned to the residence, asking for his phone back. The woman told him she would give him the phone if he gave her the keys, to which he replied that the keys were upstairs, according to documents.
The woman went upstairs to get the keys, and Puelzt drove off in her gold 2000 Ford Focus, traveling toward York City, according to police.
Two days later, about 9 a.m., state police were called to the Shrewsbury Walmart parking lot, where the woman had located Puelzt and her car, according to documents.
The woman told police she used a friend's car to block Puelzt's vehicle from leaving. While doing so, she saw Puelzt point a pistol at her, according to police. Puelzt fled the vehicle on foot, but he was later caught by a state police trooper, documents state.
During a search of the Ford Focus, an open bottle of rum and a pistol were found on the passenger side floorboard, police said.
Puelzt remains in York County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
