York City Police say a man held a woman at knifepoint for more than three hours and stabbed her repeatedly on July 4.

Victor Manuel Garcia, 27, of no fixed address, faces charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment and terroristic threats, according to police.

According to police, Garcia held a woman in her home on the 600 block of Front Street from 3 a.m to 6:30 a.m. During that time, police say, Garcia repeatedly stabbed the woman with the knife.

When she tried to escape through the back door, Garcia pulled her back in by her hair, police said.

"He also stated he was going to cut off her fingers and cut out her eyes," the officer wrote in documents.

The woman's father arrived and was able to get the woman away from Garcia, documents state. The woman was taken to York Hospital and treated for multiple lacerations to her head and arms, police said. No information was available on her condition, according to a York Hospital official.

Police say multiple cuts to the woman's arms, head, wrist and hands could be seen.

When police searched her home, they found blood covering the kitchen floor and smeared along the front and back doors. They also found a kitchen knife in a drying rack that had blood and hair on it, police said.

A marijuana cigarette and Garcia's cellphone also were found at the home, according to police.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Garcia had not been arraigned on the charges, according to online court records.
