An oversized transport will be going through parts of York City and West York Thursday evening, according to York City Police.

At 6 p.m., Edwards Moving and Rigging will transport two oversized boilers through the western section of the city. Police will escort them south in the 100 block of North Hartley Street from the rail yard adjacent to Precision Components, west on Market Street and then into West York.

In West York, West Market Street and connecting side streets will be closed beginning at 6 p.m., borough police announced. Drivers are asked to avoid the area until 7:30 p.m.

Closures and parking restrictions will be in effect along the route, according to police.

York City Police are urging drivers to be patient and to avoid the route during travel.
